Uitgaande van recente studies en richtlijnen, komen de volgende punten in deze cursus aan bod:
- Hoe COPD diagnosticeren?
- Welke medicamenteuze behandeling starten?
- Is een tri-therapie geïndiceerd? Zo ja, bij welke patiënten?
- Wat is de impact van stopzetting van inhalatiecorticoïden (ICS)?
- Hoe moet de behandeling aangepast worden volgens de evolutie van de ziekte?

Op het einde van de sessie:
- Zou u de differentiële diagnose van COPD moeten kennen en zou u gemakkelijk het stadium van de ziekte moeten kunnen bepalen.
- Kunt u een behandeling starten naargelang van de symptomen, de antecedenten en de risicofactoren van elke patiënt afzonderlijk en de behandeling vervolgens aanpassen volgens de risico-batenverhouding.
