Inleiding
Het ‘RAAS Fact Checking” programma, dat ontwikkeld werd door vooraanstaande cardiologen uit de hele wereld, wil misvattingen uit de wereld helpen en feiten van fabels onderscheiden op grond van evidence based onderzoek. Aan de hand van reële klinische scenario’s zullen de deelnemers informatie krijgen over recente onderzoeken en richtlijnen voor een effectieve en veilige klinische aanpak van volwassenen met hypertensie, onder wie ook patiënten met andere hart en vaataandoeningen, diabetes mellitus en chronische nierinsufficiëntie.

Introduction
Le programme « RAAS Fact Checking », mis au point par des cardiologues de renom du monde entier, entend rompre les stéréotypes et séparer les faits de la fiction sur la base d’études fondées sur des preuves. Grâce à des scénarios cliniques réels, les participants recevront des informations sur des études récentes et des directives à propos d'une approche clinique sûre et efficace des adultes souffrant d’hypertension, parmi lesquels on retrouve également des patients souffrant de maladies cardiovasculaires, de diabète sucré et d’insuffisance rénale chronique.

Leerdoelstellingen
Op het einde van de module zullen de deelnemers in staat zijn:
- de incidentie van hoesten bij patiënten met hypertensie die worden behandeld met ACE-remmers te beschrijven
- de mogelijke mechanismen van door ACE-remmers opgewekte hoest uit te leggen
- het praktische beleid bij door ACE-remmers veroorzaakte hoest te beschrijven
- de mogelijke gunstige effecten van ACE-remmers bij pneumonie en pneumonitis te bespreken
- de rol van blokkade van het renine-angiotensine-aldosteronsysteem (RAAS) bij de behandeling van acuut myocardinfarct (AMI) uit te leggen
- de bewijzen van het nut van blokkade van het RAAS als standaard medische behandeling bij alle patiënten die een AMI hebben doorgemaakt, op te sommen
- de werkzaamheid van ACE-remmers en angiotensine II-receptorantagonisten bij patiënten na een acuut myocardinfarct te evalueren
Objectifs d’apprentissage
À la fin du module, les participants seront capables :
- de décrire l’incidence de la toux chez des patients souffrant d’hypertension traités avec des inhibiteurs de l'enzyme de conversion (IEC)
- d’expliquer les possibles mécanismes de la toux provoquée par des IEC
- de décrire la politique pratique en cas de toux provoquée par des IEC
- de discuter des possibles effets favorables des IEC en cas de pneumonie et de pneumopathie
- d’expliquer le rôle du blocage du système rénine-angiotensine-aldostérone (SRAA) lors du traitement d’un infarctus aigu du myocarde (IAM)
- d’énumérer les preuves de l’utilité du blocage du SRAA comme traitement médical standard chez tous les patients ayant subi un IAM
- d’évaluer l’efficacité des IEC et des antagonistes des récepteurs de l'angiotensine II chez les patients après un infarctus aigu du myocarde
